Our Walk to the White Stone

Our walk today took in 14 miles (22 Km) of forest trails from Neckargemuend, via the "White Stone" (Weisser Stein). to Heidelberg. Yesterday, Melissa, Penny and Phil had e-biked to the "White Stone". We thought a visit on foot would be an appropriate activity on our last full day. Indeed, we enjoyed our stop for lunch and beer on the terrace of the "White Stone".

I forgot to take pictures (mea culpa), so what you see here are pictures I took on earlier occasions. However, what you see will give you an impression of the landscape which we enjoyed on our last full day in Odin's Forest.

Before we get to the Philosophers' Path above Heidelberg, we stop at the "Zollstock" from where we get this sun-drenched view of Heidelberg Castle and the - to the left - the King's Chair.

Our Evening

On our return to Heidelberg we dined at the 300 year old "Golden Falcon" (Goldener Falke) Restaurant in the High Street, close to the Lotte Hostel. A number of those in Julie's party, who had been sightseeing in Rastatt, decided, on their return, to go up river to Eberbach for their "Last Supper". We had a chance to meet up together in the hostel in the evening, since tomorrow we would be departing - and last mornings are usually very busy.
